hmmmm……. this is a mirror reflection of me & where I’m at. I’m in the midst of confusion & uncertainity & feeling like I have a foot in both camps & splinters in my bum from sittin on the fence (!) this describes me accurately.
The protestant guilt thing rears its head & “tells” me that I can’t be the red text and must be the black.
Thankyou for your honesty np. It’s refreshing & gives me courage to stand up & do the same.
Wow! Very excellent. And for me, when I go through those times, my hope is built upon the fact that “Messiah” Himself, survived His wilderness experience, “…and angels came and attended him.” And when I come through my wilderness pain, angels attend me. Thank you, Father.

We live in an ungainly dance of faith that pirouettes and spins so very close to that edge of insanity, called by the world by the horrid name ‘Lack of Reason’. Are we so unreasonable as to place our lives, our conscious thought bearing selves, into the ever-present yet never seen? The Wholly-Other Transcendent Yet Immanent God who loves us so? The Loving God who has no other arms to love us but those wonderful arms of those who love us in His Name?
Yes.

I’ve just recently stumbled upon your work. As a minister and a fellow “struggler” I appreciate it very much.
One who doesn’t doubt, doesn’t have a living faith.
“Lord , I believe; help me in my unbelief.” Mark 9:24
It’s normal for fallen sinners not to trust. God knows this, and loves us and forgives us, inspite of our unbelief (at times).
David’s portrayal in the cartoon could be me, just about any day of the week.
Thanks David.

“There lives more faith in honest doubt, believe me, than in half the creeds.” - Alfred Lord Tennyson
Good one!
So reading all the lines is helpful. Hm. What do you know about that?
Very poignant.

Oh how true.
Thank God!
Save us from the certainties of others.
Hey, for some weird reason unbeknownst to me, I have not read here in a million years. I love this, glad I finally got back over here.
Jerry, I love it.
