The ‘idiot’ might also be thinking along the same lines (sans the money part).

‘ The pastor might just have a little bit of influence that might help me get in good with the Almighty…’

It cracks me up whenever I run into someone who thinks that we can have motives that aren’t tainted in some little way towards the self.

Good food for thought, np…for we are at times all like the pastor.
