I thought it was going to be a cartoon about the exclusive places that pastors go to drown their sorrows. But the real lesson is that we shouldn't be getting our approval from men, even if they are "men of God", and if it is something that is being forced upon us then we should leave, and sooner rather than later.

The truth is that those bars that keep us locked up are made of red licorice. Once you realize that you have the power to bend them and step out of the cage, many things can happen.

You might stay in the cage, cramped and uncomfortable, because you've come to fear what's beyond it.

You might step out but beat yourself up with that licorice whip because you can't believe you let yourself exist in that cell for so long.

You might rush out give that pastor a licorice flogging because you can't believe he profited from the imprisonment of others!

Or you might just set yourself free, eat the licorice, and be thankful that you can walk away having just enjoyed something sweet. And you can hope that as others take themselves out of the cell, they might share some of their licorice with you.
