  1. Sabio Lantz says:

Yesterday I had a patient who was angry at Western medicine, angry at his school district and angry that he was sick. I gave him medicine for his simple illness and then asked him if he needed a work excuse but he said, “No, I run my own business.”

“Oh, what sort of business do you have,” I asked.

“I am the pastor of a local nondenominational church,” he proudly replied.

Well, we all know what that means.

So, in my experience, men go into the ministry (and their flavor of Christianity), not for “GRACE”, but for control. Other men go into secular business for the same, but they are at least honest about it.

In my experience, people rarely go into Christianity so they can feel the weight of their sins lifted off their back as the Jesus takes them, even though they may report that.

So chastising them for the hypocrisy won’t work, because in their hearts, they know why they are really there.

  2. I’m not sure they do know in their hearts why they’re really there. I think many are sincere but they lack self-awareness.
