  1. Sabio Lantz says:

I remember 30 years ago I was sitting on a train looking at the crowd around me and I realized all the silent suffering that must be going how. Prior to that day, I had felt invulnerable to weaknesses and suffering. Part of me even felt people were often unnecessarily too weak. Then for the year before that day on the train, I had panic attacks that came out of nowhere. They lasted 1 1/2 years and disappears equally mysteriously. But they did leave me with one clear gift. I realized how much we are all on the edge, I also understood silent suffering. It would help me in the future with all my patients. I wish I had not needed to learn it in that way.

  2. I’m not sure when this realization came for me, but it has stuck with me.
