I see more trouble for you ahead. (Great post!)

When a believing friend wrote that the Bible did not apply to the character and conduct of a President, that is when I realized how deeply the White Evangelical Church of the United States had committed itself to its marriage to All Things Republican.

I doubt there will be a divorce. They are in too deep now.

But… their children saw what their parents were doing. The Bible’s entire thrust at speaking to a person’s ‘character’ was tossed aside for a moment of power.

‘Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth does speak’ – and President Trump clearly spoke his heart.

‘The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control’ – all character traits.

Trump spoke with hatred, anger, violence, racism & walls, bullying, mockery, lust, and petty fights with movie stars.

And the Evangelicals still hope that he will be their national Messiah.

    Not.
