The concept of heaven is used as a way to make people conform in order to belong to the kind of people who can go there.

If you struggle with feeling like you no longer belong, there are solutions.

Hmm – not sure I completely agree with you on this one though I get your point, I would offer that it is the “concept” that is the issue and the manipulation to conform.

If someone or an institution has figured out what heaven is then perhaps that’s not heaven. If someone has figured out what or who God is and everything about that then they are God, a con man or in need of psychiatric care.

I don’t have any issue with the Queen version of heaven:

In these days of cold affections
You sit by me and everything’s fine

This could be heaven for everyone
This world could be fed, this world could be fun
This could be heaven for everyone
This world could be free, this world could be one

In this world of cool deception
Just your smile can smoth my ride
These troubled days of cruel rejection, hmm
You come to me, soothe my troubled mind

Yeah, this could be heaven for everyone
This world could be fed, this world could be fun
This should be love for everyone, yeah
This world should be free, this world could be one
We should bring love to our daughters and sons
Love, love, love, this could be heaven for everyone

    Does that sound so bad?

Hmm – well it seems you are making a point about a “concept of heaven” being a bit like an exclusive club requiring conformity and manipulating people in order to be accepted there. With those who don’t fit into that or allow themselves to be conformed to find themselves excluded while the “club” appears to be welcoming.

Wheras the lyric of the song talk of a “heaven” without “cruel rejection” of that type but rather love, soothing of a troubled mind, fun, love freedom of sitting together and everything is fine.

The first seems tribal does it not? The second for everyone? Or am I not making any sense here?
