Many people have admitted to me that they hold on to their belief in God for emotional support. They confess that they cannot imagine a life without their cherished idea of God. Even when they acknowledge it is just their idea that gives them comfort, most are unwilling to let it go and move beyond it.

It is a frightening thing to go beyond the word, the idea, to direct experience and insight. That’s why few dare.

Have you grown suspicious of your beliefs and feel your spirituality is dying? To you, it might feel like the end! Actually, you are being invited into a deeper way of being. If this is you, let’s book a free call and talk about it.

True – and it’s part of maturing. The more mature we become, the more able we are to face the fear, and facing fear is courage. I think this is what is meant by perfect love casting out fear and the truth setting you free.

If we were all dependant on our mother for emotional support – what one of us would have ever formed a sense of ourselves and our ability to cope in life independently of a mother’s care?

I like the expression of “God” in your cartoon – as if a parent wishing their child would grow up.

    :).
