For many of us, 2016 was a tough year. I know it was for me. It started well. The highlight was Lisa and I and our three adult children meeting up in Costa Rica for two weeks. Unforgettable and lovely! Then early in the spring my brother Mark took his own life. You can read about it here and here. While I was in Ontario attending to all that, I started watching CNN. Fascinated by Trump's rise to popularity, I was hooked. I became addicted to main stream media. My disbelief and alarm escalated over the ensuing months until in November I pretty much crashed as a result of the election. And I'm Canadian! On the one hand, I couldn't believe such a careless and dangerous man should or could win. On the other hand, I'm not naïve about humanity and already knew we can individually and collectively reach any depth of evil. We don't learn from history, except maybe how to achieve our ambitions by more stealth. So, 2016 was a huge lesson for me. I go into 2017 as if shot from a cannon. By force of will! But hopefully also gracefully. Much love to you all.
