Do I Hate the Church?

Because I critique what I think is wrong with the church, many jump to the naïve conclusion that I hate the church.

No, no, no!

In fact, I believe in the church’s potential to be for us and not against us.

I support and encourage churches that endeavor to be inclusive, just, and compassionate to all people regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender, etcetera.

In contrast, I challenge churches that are exclusive, unjust, and discriminatory towards people they conclude don’t belong.

Every day I receive messages such as these from conscientious church leaders who appreciate the resources I provide through my art and writing.
