God a Narcissist?
Worship means separation.
I remember reading Karl Barth where he suggests, I think in his commentary on Romans, that us reaching out to God in worship is actually a product of the Fall... that the idea of our falling away from God resulted in our sense of separation and the need to somehow reconnect with God again, but now out of fear.
