and never free.
Just to think
original thoughts
brought his heart
to a dead stop.
So he stayed safe
within the bounds,
outside of which
he was not found.
He died that way,
his body aged.
His head, alas,
a tiny cage.
The dreams he had,
forever lost.
His body grew,
