(Description: Jesus is spray-painting graffiti on the outside of a church, "Not My Idea!")
The historical man upon whom the stories of Jesus and the Church are based didn't plan on starting Christianity or the church, nor foresaw it.
That's it.

Excellent! As usual David. – - The essence of this statement has a ton of truth to it, however, God’s sovereignty (knowing all and ability to change or effect anything – based on logic!) tells us that He is never surprised. If He was, He would not be omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. The church as well as all good things and all bad things are part of His perfect plan. We can relax knowing that the imperfect church fits into His perfect plan. – - Whether we like it or not, all imperfection is His too. PERFECT IMPERFECTION. (TheBVBs.com)
