Jesus, the Bible, and the Meat Grinder

"Jesus, the Bible, and the Meat Grinder" (cartoon by nakedpastor David Hayward) John 1:14 says, "The Word became flesh, and dwelt among us‚ " Became flesh! Now the theological program is intent on turning the flesh back into the Word. This reflects a disdain for the flesh, the body, for people and the planet, and the elevation of ideologies and theological agendas. We are witnessing this throughout the religious and theological world. This is just a new kind of gnosticism with its own esoteric knowledge reserved for the initiated who desire to escape the tangible realities of this fleshy world and ascend to the unsullied heights of theological thought. We are the Word. We are the flesh that the Word dwelt among and that we became since the Word is within us. We, in the flesh, are now the manifestation and practice of the word.
