I remember so often being corrected for thinking.
No, not just any thinking. A certain kind of thinking was encouraged: the kind that didn’t ask questions but simply accepted what was transmitted… like the transfer of data.
But then there were times when my thoughts collided with my faith.
“Just believe!” I was told.
“Lean not on your own understanding!” I was corrected.
“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe!” I was preached.
Believing alone was not enough.
Neither was thinking.
There is a place beyond where these two polarized categories do not touch.
And it is very peaceful and happy.
