Sometimes it really does hurt because I've loved them so much. Sometimes it hurts initially but then I realize that it was probably best and that our friendship was based on an illusion rather than a reality. These have become to me sacred sacrifices. When you sacrifice something it is a loss. It really is a sacrifice. But now I'm starting to realize it as sacred. Something profound. It's" learning how to surrender without resentment. What is important to me is that I be true to who I am. Love myself. I must be my own best friend. All other genuine friendships radiate from there.
