LOVE IS FOR ALL
We’re talking about all kinds of love.
But, wow! Did I ever have fun drawing this cartoon.
It makes me happy. I hope it makes you happy too.
Why does it make me happy?
Because I love diversity. I think some of the healthiest communities are also some of the most diverse.
I remember many years ago when I was deep in the woods. I was meditating. Specifically on 1 Corinthians 13… the “love chapter”.
Suddenly it struck me that love is just love. Love emanates outward. It spreads. Like a flood. It is indiscriminate. It just loves anything and everyone in its path.
I saw that it is no solicited by the object of love. Love begins in the lover. The object is loved before the object is even aware of the love.
When I saw this, I was overwhelmed with the beauty and power of love and how it creates diversity. It affirms individuals and individuality. It celebrates uniqueness and difference. It rejoices in collectives and communities.
That’s why the love chapter is so… well… loved! Never does it say, “Depending on who’s receiving the love, love is…”. It just says, “Love is…”, “love always”, “love never”.
Period.
No ifs, ands, or buts.
So… everybody… will you jump in the deep end of love with me?

I m always on the lookout for words like these, for images that reach out, crossing cultural, social, religious boundaries.
Why not follow the inner compass towards what seems right, and be it against the iron customs of several thousand years.
Thanks for your wisdom, courage and consistency, naked pastor.
This series on Love is wonderful.
Perhaps it will be a future book??
