Pilate... the consummate politician... who supports and therefore perpetuates a wicked regime and pretends to govern fairly while denyingany responsibility. He traffics in death while claiming blamelessness. He emboldens violence while washing his hands of it. Truth? There is no truth except staying in power and personally benefiting from it. And he will further and uphold any policy that helps keep it so. Truth doesn't mean anything anymore. This is intentional!
