prayer from the cell: for the beauty
I remember this hymn from the earliest years of my life. It's always been one of my favorites. Some years ago I realized it must be because it is in nature that I have the strongest sense of the Blessed. Especially at night with a clear sky and all the stars are shining. The atmosphere is absolutely full of Benediction. Last night Lisa and I dug out a bottle of wine we were keeping for a special time. It was a decent bottle: Rosemount Shiraz. We went out on our front patio overlooking the moonlit river. We turned out all of our lights, indoors and out, and the stars in the night sky came alive! We looked for shooting stars and passing satellites. We enjoyed the blessed silence salted with occasional conversation. It was Blessed. It was Anointed. It was Benediction. I gave away a free print to download to those who have joined my newsletter. Some people are using it for their computer screen's wallpaper. Please join my newsletter if you haven't already. Thanks!
