This is a drawing I did some years ago. It is called "Rahab's Cord", based on the Old Testament story of the harlot Rahab who courageously hid some men of Israel who came to spy on the city of their enemies, Jericho. She hoped they would have mercy on her and her household. They said they would spare her and her family, but she had to hang a red cord out of her window to show the army that she was to be saved. I tried to capture the hope and courage of this incredible woman of faith. Not even remotely related to the right group, the right morality, the right theology, the right god, she became a hero in the lineage of Jesus.
