RIP David Bowie: a tribute cartoon

"RIP David Bowie" tribute cartoon by nakedpastor David Hayward
David Bowie has died at age 69. What inspired me most about him? Besides loving his work (I think my favorite song is "China Girl")... I was inspired by his unlimited creativity. He just kept creating, breaking molds he himself created or his fans created, and reinvented himself and his work all the time. Observing him lead me to conclude, many years ago, that it's okay to be prolific, diverse and that it's okay to transform yourself. You will meet disappointment from others and perhaps even rejection, but something more important is at stake. His influence is so profound that I think his creativity will keep creating. Which is why I drew him sprucing up his own gravestone with his famous lightning mark, dressed in a hat and glasses to conceal his identity, as he was prone to do. I'm looking forward to hearing his new album that was just released on his 69th birthday.
