A NEW COMMISSION: ALLY BEAR A bear stands between the church and LGBTQIA+ rainbow sheep. Because mama and papa bears do this. I know a lot of them. They’re amazing. I was commissioned by someone to draw a cartoon that conveyed how allies for the LGBTQIA+ community may stand between them and the powers that try to restrict, reject, or destroy them. A rainbow sheep is in a church with a group of white sheep. Jesus stands among them. A white sheep says to the rainbow sheep, "Sorry but you're just not welcome here." Next frame we see Jesus walking away with the rainbow sheep and the white sheep says, "Hey where'd Jesus go?" Sometimes I draw a cartoon that expresses clearly exactly what I think. Meanwhile, Jesus stands behind him with a large and diverse group of people, including LGBTQIA people, looking at his watch, waiting for him to finally realize it's totally up to us.
