The Trouble of Spiritual Growth
If I was this boy's father, I would say, "Well, even though it's painful, I wouldn't trade it for the world! I embrace my spiritual history and take ownership of my spiritual growth. I look forward to what lies ahead as I learn to integrate all aspects of my journey in order to become a whole, integrated human being. I am richer for it, and I trust, in the end, that all of this will make me wiser." That's right! My approach is to help people make sense of their spiritual journeys so that they can heal and move on into their own spiritual independence.
