The International Transgender Day of Visibility was established in reaction to Transgender Day of Remembrance that was observed to only remember transgender people who had died from hate crimes. This day was established to celebrate and encourage the lives of transgender people.
One of the most visible spokespersons for LGBTQ people is Laverne Cox. She says a lot of powerful" things, but I particularly like this quote:
"It is revolutionary for any trans person to choose to be seen and visible in a world that tells us we should not exist."If you exist, you deserve the rights and freedoms any and every person deserves.
