Well my friends, I finally did it!
I’ve published a new book I’m excited about:
“Til Doubt Do Us Part: When Changing Beliefs Change Your Marriage”.
I’ve written a lot of posts and drawn a lot of cartoons about this issue. So I decided to compile them all into one convenient book.
When Lisa and I were deconstructing, our marriage went through a lot of strain. We almost didn’t make it. I know many couples who experienced the same thing. Some marriages survived and some didn’t.
My book provides some insights and strategies for navigating the treacherous waters of changing beliefs… what to do to understand it, what to do to survive it, and what to do if you don’t think you’ll make it.
"... Do Us Part" doesn't necessarily mean literal separation and divorce... although it could. It means you will experience a kind of emotional separation, disentanglement, dis-enmeshment, where you must learn to be unique from one another while still in your loving relationship.
I tell every couple who asks about deconstruction: “Look, it’s going to happen. Prepare. Here’s what you can do when it starts.”
