A man asks a pastor what the picture of Jesus on the cross with tape over his mouth means. The pastor says, "Oh that. Well here we appreciate what he did for us but not so much what he said to us."
WHAT JESUS SAID OR DID
There are two branches to Christianity.
One claims what Christ has accomplished for us.
The other claims what Christ has taught us.
The first we can accept. The second we can observe.
Those who accept the first are believers.
Those who accept the second are those who appreciate the teachings of Jesus, and this can be anyone, including non-believers.
I don't have a problem with those who don't believe the first.
I do have a problem with people who believe the first and disregard the second.
It's like they believe Jesus saved them and gave his permission for them to be terrible people.
