I founded and facilitate an online community called The Lasting Supper
. This is one of the themes that comes up a lot: I was duped, and I like it. Not only that, I can see where I participated in my own demise.
It takes some pretty intense work to process that. There's denial, anger, self-loathing, remorse, as well as sometimes tears and sometimes laughter.
But I see many people, including myself, who make it to the other side and learn to accept this as a part of their story and integrate it into their lives. We learn to embrace our whole selves.
We also learn how not to do it again.
