Have you ever been faced with this choice?
Maybe not so close together because you don’t want to be seen.
I pretty much went to church my whole life.
Then, in 2010, I abruptly left the ministry and the church.
I remember my first Sunday not working as a pastor.
I smoked a nice cigar.
I went for a walk.
People driving by honked their horns at me to say hi on their way to church.
It was wonderful.
It felt like a holiday.
But, it took a while to sink in that I had just radically changed my life.
Things were never going to be the same again.
It took me a while to feel like I wasn’t transgressing.
But once I got over that, Sunday morning is my most precious morning of the week.
I’m not against church attendance. There’s a church Lisa and I will visit when we can that we enjoy.
And if you know of one that you like, take advantage of it.
Like I say, “Stay if you can, leave if you must.”
