Truth is always greater than those who teach it.

Itโ€™s okay to be impressed with teachers of the truth.

But any teacher who says the buck stops here is a liar and does not yet know the truth.

In fact, often the teacher blinds you to the truth. Sometimes intentionally. Sometimes not.

So, what we must urgently strive for is direct perception of the truth ourselves.

This takes great daring.

  1. YES! This is why it is so important for a person that values learning to move from church institution to church institution.

The institution, college, online course – they are a tool to learn from. Just as an instrumentalist should change their teacher every 3 to 5 years, so should a learner.

In fact, I adore the Internet for this very thing! A person can remain in the same ‘church’ if they wish, and learn ONLINE from the Lutheran posts, from the Catholic posts, from the charismatic posts, from the anti-gay marriage posts, and the pro-gay marriage posts.

Why do people embrace prosperity teachings? Read their posts….

Why do people say they ‘love’ a gay marriage but will do everything they can to deny them marketplace access? Read their posts….

You will learn of their heart’s fears and goals….

And see that the truth is seen through human-colored lenses.

That alone is one of the greatest lessons to discover, embrace, and smile about… we are all terribly human. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. “Terribly human” and “a liar and does not yet know the truth” sounds a lot like “if we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

Personally I think the truth is that if the world was run the way I say it should be, we would all be so much better off ๐Ÿ˜›
