This is one of my favorite drawings of Jesus. I think it's dynamic, powerful, and just.
I drew this image of Jesus throwing tables because I wanted to somehow capture the action of the remarkable story in the gospels when Jesus gets angry with the money changers in the temple.
I personally don't think Jesus had a problem with buying and selling. I think he had a problem with extorting the poor who couldn't afford sacrifices and had to pay far more than the actual value. The religious establishment set up a requirement and then provided a solution to that requirement at an exorbitant cost. I think this is what angered him. So I imagined a kind of biblical superhero, like an early Robin Hood, and tried to capture that energy.

I love it. Never seen a representation of that before but I’m sure there must be one of the Masters who did it. I like it in the way it informs the political Christianity that informed the movement (I forget the name now) of the Latin American
Movement in then Latin America 30 years ago. An angry Jesus, pertinent today, that suggest Jesus was not without sin. It captures the spirit.‘I gave a copy to the church and the priest who brought me back home to the church. It inspirational reminder of how we must keep fighting for the realm of God.
Item was perfect! Exactly like the picture, high quality paper, good contrast and ink intensity. Very happy with it.
