This is a cartoon that I was commissioned to draw.
Abusers often feel justified in inflicting abuse. They are spiritually motivated to hurt people. But... and this is a point I frequently make... abusive people create and co-opt ideas that authorize abuse.
It's a vicious circle that many people suffer under.
