Sighs too deep for words...

I serve as the Sr. Director of continuing education at United Lutheran Seminary. David's work hangs in our library and is always a conversation starter for our students as they study and contemplate God's mysteries. I am especially moved by the Sophia series, which David used at a week-long seminar in the summer of 2024. One of the paintings is entitled "Fearless." I bought a print of it and gave it to my adult daughter who is graduating from college soon-- it helps her to know how strong and capable she is to face the world. David's art sometimes uses words, but it's the imagery that sticks with you: Christ erasing lines that others try to inscribe on the landscape; a rainbow sheep being rescued while the other 99 are morally indignant, Jesus demonstrating how to flip a table to a young woman, and so on. David's art will always be part of my work at the seminary, and I look forward to having him to another event soon. -- Rev.
