Embracing Doubt is like Embracing Night

I was taught that doubt was to be greatly feared. Doubt was a sure sign that you were backsliding. Doubt was an effective tool of the devil. So doubt was to be avoided at all costs. If it crept up on you it was best to ignore it.

We now call this denial.
