Mary's Leadership Role in the Gospel

Personally, I don't need scripture to justify the equality of women and their full participation in the gospel in every way.

But it's there if you need it.

I also don't need to believe the original writers' intent was the full equality of women, because stories have many layers of meaning that unfold over time.

We don't impute to the writers our wishes, or project on them our agendas. We accept them as they were, but let their stories unfold to us in manifold ways.

For me, the determining factor is love, peace, justice, and equality for all... whether our roots intentionally predicted this or not.

We do what's right, and we allow our stories to nourish us as we determine.
