At several points in my life, I've caught myself saying, "Wait! Why am I doing this?"
This also includes going to church.
At one point I realized, just like the woman in this cartoon did, that the only reason I could think of was that I didn't want to disappoint people.
That's right! The ONLY reason was to prevent discomfort.
Look, I've been in churches where I wanted to be. I enjoyed it. But there have been moments when I realized I wasn't there for myself.
Now, on the one hand, it's okay to do things that make other people happy. I enjoy making others happy.
But, on the other hand, if that's the only reason you do things, then you are going to be very unhappy yourself.
I enjoy helping people become independent, including spiritually. I love empowering people to be self-determining and to live their own lives the way they want to.
And I see it happen all the time. Marvelous!
I personally invite you to join other independent people at The Lasting Supper. I also invite you to reach out to me if you want to talk one-on-one with me about it.
You can change your life!
