Brazilian Soapstone Sculpture "FONT"

This is an original stone sculpture sculpted out of beautiful Brazilian soapstone. The dimensions are 4"x3"x9".

ABOUT THIS SCULPTURE: I've found with sculpture that even though I may begin with a plan for the stone, the stone's own character begins to shape itself and reshape my ideas for it. As I chipped away at this beautiful piece of stone, its dimensions and its message became clear to me. It is representational of a baptismal font. You can see the dimple at the top representing the basin that would hold the water for baptism.
