    Very interesting David – great metaphor for how it can feel like with personal growth.

    I’ve been on a meditation retreat today where there has been talk of the mind oscillating between thoughts connected with the future and past and how difficult it can be to be centred on the present. But that to do so means to be fully present in the here and now.

    I think of what I recall hearing of an experienced musical tutor. On teaching the violin, seeing a student progress initially then reach a point where progression seems to slow down and even halt altogether. The experience of the tutor knowing that this is an important stage of consolidation.

    Perhaps there are not dissimilar themes in many areas of life?
