Black History Month: Thanks for your words but don't change anything!

"Inspiring Words" cartoon by nakedpastor David Hayward

We are so inspired by inspiring words that come out of the inspiring mouths of inspiring people. But these people are people who challenge the status quo and change things. Their words blossom into action. In fact, their words and actions are one indivisible onslaught against falsehood and injustice and for love and peace. Jesus said, "anyone who hears the word but does not carry it out is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror, and after observing himself goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like." That's happening a lot these days. Coretta Scott King's words are truthful and inspiring. But let's not dare change anything. Have we forgotten what we look like?
