We call this cognitive bias, or the Dunning-Kruger effect.
It's when you think you know more than you actually do know about a subject.
There's a relationship between one's confidence in a subject and their ignorance and lack of competence on that subject.
The less you actually know, the more confident you are that you actually know more than you know.
But the more you actually know, the more you realize you don't know. Your confidence in knowing everything about it is lower even though your competence on the subject is high.
Our choice is stupid confidence or humble competence.
