This painting (the original is available) was painted in memory of my mom who died in December, 2023.
The depth of grief was and is profound still. She was always there for me. She was my comfort, loved to hear my stories, and always supported my work.
She absolutely loved my paintings and adorned her own walls with many of them. She would have loved this one.
They've all been returned to me now.
But I would prefer her back instead.
My landscapes were her favorites. So I painted this one with her and I in it, separated by mist, but also beauty.
Miss you mom.
