This painting (the original is available) was painted in memory of my mom who died in December, 2023.
The depth of grief was and is profound still. She was always there for me. She was my comfort, loved to hear my stories, and always supported my work.
She absolutely loved my paintings and adorned her own walls with many of them. She would have loved this one.
They've all been returned to me now.
But I would prefer her back instead.
My landscapes were her favorites. So I painted this one with her and I in it, separated by mist, but also beauty.
Miss you mom.

I lost both of my parents a few months ago, and when I saw this painting it made me cry and I knew that I had to have it. This beautiful print now hangs in my home office where it's a daily reminder of my parents and their love, and that although I miss them terribly I know will see them again. Thank you, David!
I was drawn to this print when David wrote about grief and the ongoing reality of separation. As I have tried to find ways to express my grief and stay connected, this artwork reaffirms for me that, though we are apart now, we are not really separated. It is hanging over my desk so I can find assurance in my heart.
