LET'S KEEP IT SIMPLE?

This is a watercolor and ink painting on heavy, high quality Arches watercolor paper.

It measures approximately 8"x10" with a white border for matting and framing.

During these confusion and complicated times, can we keep it simple.

Can we just be? Together?

I think so.

I live in the Canadian north. I'm not in the city, so my skies don't suffer from light pollution as much. Sometimes I go out at night and just look up. Often, I inhale and exhale a huge sigh, astounded by the beauty. If I'm really lucky, I might catch some Northern Lights. 

This experience always makes me feel more grounded, and, strangely, seen and loved.

And I can carry that feeling for a long time. Sometimes until the next night.

All I have to do is look up.

I live in eastern Canada. I'm fascinated by the complex but minimal simplicity of the geography that surrounds me. I endeavor to capture its essence in my work. There is something mystical, contemplative, and spiritual in my art... because there is in the place where I live.
