Still Connected

Over the course of my deconstruction, I’ve lost many friends. The strange thing is, I still feel strongly and strangely connected to them, even though many years have passed.

This is one of the deep truths I hold to: that we are all connected at a deep and fundamental level, and this connection time and space cannot sever.

I tried to convey this in this painting. It’s available to someone who knows what I mean. But I also think this would be a wonderful gift to send someone you feel this way about.

Even though I convey a lot of space in my paintings, I also like to convey a kind of love that thrives in serenity.

This is a Sumi ink on heavy, high quality Arches watercolour cotton rag paper.

It measures approximately 8"x8" with a white border for matting and framing.

I'm fascinated by the complex but minimal simplicity of the geography that surrounds me. I endeavour to capture its essence in my work. There is something mystical, contemplative, and spiritual in my art... because there is in the place where I live.
