People who question the church and so-called norms are often cast out from the flock. These brave, honest souls are often labeled as lost. But there’s nothing lost about someone being so sure of who they are that they are willing to risk rejection.
This series of cartoons was a true community effort. The first cartoon started off with Jesus carrying a white lamb. Then someone asked if I could color in the sheep Jesus was carrying with rainbow colors to represent the LGBTQIA community. Then someone asked if I could do a transgender lamb with Jesus saying “them”. Then someone wanted different pronouns. Until finally all four pronoun options were done. It makes my heart sing to be able to make trans-positive art that enables friends and family of trans people to encourage them. Join me in saying flock to fitting into or ticking binary boxes.
